From the Pastor's Desk

December 2010

Dr. T. J. Wesley,
Pastor

November's worship services began on November 7th with a special "All Saints" Communion service, where we especially remembered the members of our church who passed over the past year. Since that service Rafe Matlock, Eva's husband, passed away. Please remember Eva and all our members who still grieve the loss of loved one's who passed away this past year.

Then on Sunday November 14th, after our morning worship service we held an all-church meeting reviewing the state of our congregation and set our goals for the next year. Next on Nov. 21st, upon the request of our District Superintendent, we held our annual Charge Conference during our Sunday worship service. Lastly, on Nov. 28th we held our First Sunday of Advent service with the tree and Poinsettia's in place in our Upper Room Chapel. This year we will be delivering the Poinsettia's to our shut-in members earlier than usual.

November 20th saw a special healing service at our "Journey is the Way" ministry service to celebrate the completion of one year of programs of this special and unique ministry. And now we begin the month where we are to remember the reason for the season - Jesus the Christ.

Do your best to keep Christ in Christmas and please remember St. Andrew in your special holiday giving - we clearly have a need for your ongoing and continuous support of our mission here at St. Andrew.

Since Ruthanne is departing when the next newsletter will appear and what it will look like is currently unknown. Her secretarial duties will be taken over by your Pastor.

Trusting that you had a Happy Thanksgiving and Praying that you have a blessed and Merry Christmas.

In peace, I am Rev. T. J. Wesley
